What this calculator does
This online calculator tracks how many days you've been smoke-free since your quit date, and estimates how much money you've saved and how many cigarettes you've avoided, based on your former daily habit and cigarette cost.
Worked example
Quitting on August 3, 2026 after smoking 15 cigarettes a day at$10 per 20-pack, by September 2, 2026 (30 days later) you've saved$225 and avoided 450 cigarettes.
Common mistakes
- Using an outdated cigarette price. Prices change over time — update the price per pack field for a more accurate running total if costs have changed since you quit.
- Forgetting to reset after a relapse. If you restarted smoking and quit again, update the quit date to your most recent quit day for an accurate current streak.
- Treating this as a health tracker. This tool only estimates time and money — it doesn't measure health improvements, which vary by individual.
