What this calculator does

Subscriptions renew on a repeating cycle — usually monthly or yearly — from the original start date. This calculator projects forward from your start date to find the very next renewal (and charge) date from today, so you can plan your budget or cancel in time.

Worked example

Your subscription started on January 15, 2026 and renews monthly. If today isSeptember 2, 2026, the next renewal after today is September 15, 2026.

Common mistakes

  • Using the trial signup date instead of the first billing date. If you had afree trial, billing typically starts when the trial ends, not when you first signed up.
  • Assuming a fixed day every month. Subscriptions starting on the 29th, 30th, or 31st shift to the last day of shorter months, so the renewal date isn't always identical month to month.
  • Missing the cancellation cutoff. Some providers require cancellation a day or more before the renewal date to avoid being charged — don't wait until the renewal date itself.

How is my next renewal date calculated?+

We start from your subscription's original start date and repeatedly add one billing cycle (monthly or yearly) until we land on the next renewal date that is today or later.

Why doesn't my renewal fall on the same day every month?+

If your subscription started on the 31st of a month, some shorter months don't have a 31st day, so the renewal shifts to the last day of that month instead. This can make the renewal date drift slightly across the year.

Does this account for free trials?+

No — enter the date your paid billing actually started (usually when your free trial ended), not your signup date, for an accurate renewal calculation.

What if I want to cancel before the next renewal?+

Most subscriptions need to be cancelled before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next cycle — check your provider's online account or app for the specific cancellation cutoff, as some require a few days' notice.
